Rungstedgaard is one of Denmark's great, noble properties whose golden age was back in the 1920s and 1930s. But the history of the place goes back much further than this: the area belonged to the original Hirschholm Palace in Hørsholm.
The present main building was built in 1918 by Laura Dinesen. In 1965 the property was purchased for course/conference activities by a group of Danish insurance companies.
Today Rungstedgaard consists of the main building plus a number of annexes containing the facilities needed for the course centre. The teaching rooms were built in 1991/2001.
Rungstedgaard is a harmonious, excellent combination of old manor house ambience in the main building and fascinating modern architecture housing the course facilities, providing a unique opportunity to combine relaxation and rest with concentrated work in a very varied setting.
In 2001 a new restaurant with a view of the øresund was opened.
